Kinsta alternative

A Kinsta alternative for the second, tenth, and thirtieth client site

Kinsta is a separate company. WPHost is not affiliated with it. Kinsta is a strong single-site host, and the price climbs as visits and sites climb. An agency comparing it is usually comparing a portfolio, not one brochure site.

The portfolio is the difference

A premium plan for one site can be a fair buy. The same shape of plan, repeated for every client, is how an agency invoice gets away from you. WPHost Business keeps adding WordPress sites on the same bill.

Business is $149 a month, or $1,490 once a year ($124.17 a month, two months free). Starter is $9, Pro is $30, and Scale is $65. Cancel any time.

What you get here

  • Each WordPress site has its own MySQL database, its own files, and its own web server site.
  • PHP 8.4, automatic HTTPS on the preview address, and a custom domain when DNS points here.
  • One dashboard and one bill. Client access is an invite with the editor or viewer role, not the agency password. Billing stays on the agency account.
  • Pro and above include staging copies, CLI deploy, and scheduled tasks. Pro and Scale include up to 10 team members.
  • Scale and Business check uptime every five minutes and email the owner only when a site changes between up and down.
  • Business is unlimited WordPress sites, unlimited team members and client logins, and a free migration of each eligible client site.
  • A recovery point stores that site’s files and database together, and it can be restored. You take it when you want one. It is not a daily backup job.

What you do not get

Kinsta’s edge, cache, and Google Cloud packaging are theirs. We do not pretend to resell that. Use this host when the job is many ordinary client WordPress sites, a client login, and a person who will move the eligible ones.

  • There is no built-in CDN, page cache, or object cache.
  • There is no malware scanner, no automatic plugin updates, and no email hosting. Leave MX records where they are.
  • Support is a person answering the ticket. There is no coded response-time promise.
  • There is no SSH product and no multisite move. WooCommerce can run as PHP and MySQL. There is no dedicated checkout SLA.

When a site gets busy

On Business the busy site is not cut off for crossing a visit allowance, because that allowance is not enforced. It still has its own database and files. You get an email if the five-minute uptime check sees it go down or come back. That is the whole performance promise.

Start with one site

Move one client site to the preview URL and decide from that, not from a benchmark table.

Questions

Are you on Google Cloud?

No. Do not move a site because you want Kinsta’s cloud region or CDN. Move it because you want the agency account described on this page.

Can the client see every site?

No. An invite is for the account you choose to share. The role is editor or viewer. Billing stays with the agency.

How much is the agency plan?

Business is $149 a month, or $1,490 a year. It is unlimited WordPress sites, with fair use on visits and storage, and unlimited client logins.
